Define the Baroque style of art and use examples from painting, poetry, and architecture. Be sure to  highlight the Baroque aspects of each example. The Baroque style brought a new aspect to people to look at something in a different way.  Caravaggio  was a painter who used strong contrast of light and dark to make the painting seem as if  it’s popping out of the picture at you. His painting gave you a sort of feeling as if you were included in  them. Being up against such a dark background as he used in  The Crucifixion of Saint Peter , it gave  the viewer a more sensual feeling like you could reach out and touch the people. His paintings are  more theatrical, like in the  Deposition from the Cross;  the faces all have very dramatic expressions.
