I.Introduction. Many Americans believe Social Security will always be able to provide for them once they retire. Under the current system, Social Security will be depleted by the year 2037. Current proposals to fix or at least extend the Social Security taxes include raising taxes and or the retirement age and cutting benefits. It is absolutely imperative to plan for your retirement a head of time and know what options you have. In the following paragraphs I will explain what is wrong with relying on Social Security, what is being proposed to fix it, and finally what you can do to make sure you and your family can do to retire comfortably. II. Topic Sentence 1: The current Social Security System will be deleted by 2037. A. Support 1. Currently for every 1 retiree there are 3 workers putting money into the Social Security benefit. 2. By 2025 there will be 2 workers per retiree putting into Social Security. B.
