Legislation Legacy Check Point I came across the “The Farm, Nutrition, and Bioenergy Act of 2007 (HR 2419)” (National Congress of American Indians [NCAI], 2007, ¶ 5). This particular bill is supposed to provide $286 billion over the next five years covering a large amount of federal programs including rural development, forestry, energy development, agricultural credit, research, commodity payments, conservation and nutritional programs”(NCAI). The goal of this proposed plan as I see it will be to educate and provide Native Americans food and information on how to better take care of them. Poverty amongst Native American Tribes is so high that this is a major concern to not only the American government but the Tribal government as well. The proposed bill said it will provide food to all those that qualify to receive it. Education is another very high priority for Native American tribes because with proper education these people will be able to find better employment which will allow them to take care of themselves. This bill is a beginning step to stopping
