Bryan Redd Intro to Philosophy UA Spring Class Pianalto Assignment 8 There are many views involving morality, many of which are perplexing because of they offer opposing views on the subject. There are many instances where it seems that the views of subjectivist and realist could both be applied. For example, on HBO right now there is a show about rape in the Congo. This group of tribesman in the Congo believes that it is right and actually needed to rape women, in order to show their superiority as a gender and also to lower the ego of these women. To these tribesmen rape is morally correct, but does that mean that there is an absolute moral standard that states that rape is morally correct? Well to us we all know that rape is a terrible thing that is frowned heavily upon in our country, but does this mean that our views on the morality of rape are superior to the views of the tribesman in the Congo. It is almost impossible to tell. I believe that there is a moral standard or code that applies to everyone, in essence. My
