Bryan Redd UA Class Spring 08 Assignment #4 There are many explanations provided in the world today which try to answer the unexplainable. Richard Swinburne believes that these explanations come in two forms. First, the personal explanation which serves to answer these questions through reasoning that a personal being, a god, brought all things into existence. Secondly, the scientific explanation which serves to answer all questions through scientific law and theory. Personally, I believe we should prefer the personal explanation over the scientific explanation. It is nice to think that you were created and are the work of the genius, and not just some cosmic boom which formed a planet from which you became what you are through the evolution of a fish. When you accept the personal explanation you are accepting that you want to believe that you serve a greater purpose than just as a scientific cycle which rotates every few thousand years. The personal explanation explains many things that the scientific explanation
