TOUCH SCREEN TYPES There are a few different technologies currently used for touch screens The most common are resistive and capacitive This is due to their relatively low cost compared to the alternatives

THE RESISTIVE METHOD Works by sensing pressure on the screen Most widely used technology in the production of mobile phones and GPS units There are two thin metallic screen layers separated by spacer dots Electricity is running through each layer When the screen is pressed, the two layers meet and the change in current is measured in that area, registering a touch event
