CONSUMER BEHAVIOR Exercise 1: The Implicit Association Test Due: Tues. 8/28 1. I took both the Race (‘black-white’) IAT and the Weight (‘fat-thin’) IAT . After taking the two tests I didn’t feel I had learned anything about myself that I didn’t already know; however, I would never knowingly admit to the findings of the first. The results of my first test stated that I moderately preferred white people to black people. This may be true based on the society we live in and the environment in which I grew up, but I am strongly against that finding. Being a black man, I hate the idea that the color of my skin automatically places me at a disadvantage in our society. I’m not sure if there will ever come a time when the color of your skin truly doesn’t matter, but what I do know is that it will be a long time from now. I feel the second test I took wasn’t much of an eye opener either. I don’t feel as strong about the issue though. According to my results I strongly prefer thin people to skinny people.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
