Select a product with which you are familiar. What stage is your selected product at in the product life cycle? Provide rationale for your answer. Based on your knowledge of the product life cycle, what types of changes will occur to your selected product as it continues through the product life cycle? How will this affect the marketing of your selected product? The product I am choosing is the Nintendo Wii Game System. This system broke the industry standard when they released this new concept of actively participating in the video games. I would say the Nintendo Wii is at the market growth stage. Even though the product is a couple of years old now, the interest level continues to grow as the Nintendo organization is continually creating new enhancements to go along with the Wii game system. This competition has only led to Nintendo creating more interactive games, accessories, and enhancements making their product even more enjoyable. As Nintendo Wii continues through the product life cycle, I believe it will level off as competitors are quickly coming up with very comparable products. The price of the unit will decline a little to keep consumers intrigued. Another unique thing about the Nintendo Wii that I have not noticed as much with other video game systems is that they market their product towards families. Generally, you think of video games being for a young market, but Nintendo Wii has capitalized on the fact that they have a product that the whole family can enjoy. They continue to come out with games that are current, trendy, and encourage family participation....
