The significant of managing cultural diversity in the workplace is a substantial part of a company’s success. Companies need to develop a plan that has the proper technique, knowledge and ability that help the company deal with potential problems that may arise at any time. Individual’s back ground; gender, religion and beliefs are the key points that a company creates solutions on dealing with and respecting all employees in the workplace. Companies must keep current on the aspects of diversity to be able to manage diversity effectively. There are many way to express culture; through language, arts, music and foods, that play an important part in shaping effective communication, and that the key to diversity in the workplace. Teaching your employees to work as a team in one of the most important part of overcoming weaknesses of diversity in the workplace, people learn more about the people they work with. This is what this paper will communicate. Managing Cultural Diversity in the Workplace Developing the proper methods for handling cultural diversities in the workplace place is a substantial part of a company’s success. The methods can develop strong relationships between a company’s clients and employees. Developing a plan involves proper technique, knowledge and ability in dealing with potential problems that may arise in the workplace. "The personal commitment of executive and managerial teams is a must. Leaders and managers within organizations must incorporate diversity policies into every aspect of the organizations function and purpose. Attitudes toward diversity originate at the top and filter downward. Management cooperation and participation is required to create a culture conductive to the success of your organizations plan" (Greenberg, 2004, p. 1) .

MANAGING CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE 3 Companies can develop a variety of different strategies to manage cultural diversities in the workplace; Respecting an individual’s religion, ethnic background, gender, and beliefs can aide in the handling these differences. “Recommended diversity in the workplace solutions include: ward off change resistance with inclusion - Involve every employee possible in formulating and executing diversity initiatives in your workplace. Foster an attitude of openness in your organization - Encourage employees to express their ideas and opinions and attribute a sense of equal value to all. Promote diversity in leadership positions - This practice provides visibility and realizes the benefits of diversity in the workplace. Utilize diversity training - Use it as a tool to shape your diversity policy. Launch a customizable employee satisfaction survey that
