Whitson 1 Sharon Whitson Professor Brady Engl-1010-C01 18 April 2011 Essay Plan IV Preliminary thesis:  Parents typically want the best for their children; however, the  parenting style they are using, can either shape their children’s lives in a positive  manner, or can be detrimental with possible damaging effects.  Parents need to be  aware of the parenting category they fall into, and make adjustments to this style to  ensure the well-being of their children’s future as adults.
