Classification/Division Essay Notes/Ideas for my TOPIC. In the film “Blade Runner”, replicants are made perfectly like human beings through a well-done ‘skin jobs’ and genetic engineered. They can demonstrate the abilities to perform and work like human: they can talk and they can also have feelings and emotions. These replicants are stronger, faster, and smarter than humans; however, they are only genetically programmed for a designated life span of four years. Replicants are created to use as a slave labor, which is used in “off-world colonization”. Somehow, they return to Earth and confront their creator for a longer living life, but unfortunately the creator can’t make their life longer. According to Descartes’ theory, a person is someone who possesses a body and mind, and he indicates that “the soul and the mind are identical”. Therefore, a person is considered existed if he or she owns a soul. Most importantly, the vital principle of mind is “thought”. The replicants have many humanistic and realistic qualities. Blade Runner The movie that I chose to analyze for this section is Blade Runner. This movie takes place in Los Angeles in the year 2019. It is based on a futuristic situation where a company has created an advance synthetic human form referred to as replicants. The replicants look identical to regular humans, however they are faster, stronger, and more agile. Their intelligence is equal to if not more superior to humans. The replicants were sent to the off world and used to further space exploration and used as slaves. When a revolt of the replicants took place it was determined that they would no longer be able to return to earth. A police task force called the Blade Runners was established to retire (execute) any replicant that made it back to earth. The main character of the movie is Deckert. He is unwillingly recruited back into the Blade Runners when a group of six replicant hijacked a shuttle, killed the crew, and returned to earth. He begins the hunt for these escapee replicant, but first meets a replicant who becomes an exception to his beliefs. In life we come across many people. Some will hate us while others will adore us. The ones who hate can be referred to as enemies and the ones who show adoration will be called friends. In truth, there are three types of friends. Seeing them on the street is like they are not even there. One may have known them throughout their whole school career, but have never talked to them outside of school. These school aqquaintinces are nice people to talk to , but there is never an effort to do anything more than that. These friends are good because
