AN OVERVIEW ON SCHIZOPHRENIA Schizophrenia is a major mental disorder that has a disturbance of mood behavior and thought. Schizophrenia also means "split mind," but it does not cause a split personality. The proper treatment for the disorder and the correct support from family and doctors can lead into a happy recovery and patients will be able to live. It is also important for patients to acknowledge that they are diagnosed with the disorder and know the different symptoms and effects that it may cause. Schizophrenia is caused by the brain's chemistry of hormonal changes, environmental, and psychological assaults. One genetic factor is if a patient has been diagnosis with schizophrenia, they sibling has a 10% chance of developing the disorder also. If an identical twin is diagnosed with the disorder, therefore, the other twin will have a 50% chance of developing the disorder. Some schizophrenia symptoms include hallucinations and distorted thoughts. Young adults usually start with schizophrenia and causes paranoid. A psychiatrist usually evaluates the diagnosis by evaluates the symptoms, running test on patients, prescribes medication, sometimes psychotherapy and review a patient's medical history. There are many new researches out to diagnosis the disorder to get a better understanding for the doctors and patients. There are several types of schizophrenia. The first type is paranoid-type of schizophrenia is proposed by delusions and auditory hallucinations. It is normally functioning and the expression of affect.
