So we can keep each of our programs straight: Under your root, Create a subdirectory with your account name as shown in class; mkdir youraccountid. (this is the make directory command) Go to that subdirectory cd youraccountid. (this is the ‘change directory command) create another subdirectory for THIS program mkdir p1 (this makes another directory at this level!) Go to that subdirectory cd p1 (go TO this location (subdirectory)) Do a pwd to ensure you are in your correct subdirectory… should see: /home/m/mjones/mjones/p1 (for student named Mary Jones) Within THIS subdirectory, create your java files for program 1. For subsequent programs, you will follow the same procedure , but from your account-id, you will create p2 and then p3, etc. via mkdir p2 or mkdir p3, as we progress into programs 2, 3, etc. (under your accounted) So, you will ultimately have a structure of several program subdirectories all underneath your account id at the same level. For program 1:
