BBA Program Business Mathematics Course Code: ASC162 Pre-requisite Courses: Basic Mathematics WELCOME TO THE CLASS I ntroduction: I look forward to have a fruitful and meaningful interaction with each one of you during the term. This will however depend on your active participation and attention during the class sessions and an active follow up afterwards. C ourse D escription: The course includes functions, limits, differentiation of algebraic, exponential and logarithmic functions (sum, product, quotient and chain rules), optimization and its applications in economics/finance, indefinite and definite integration and its application in economics/finance (substitution method and integration by parts), partial derivatives, optimization of bivariate functions and its applications in economics/finance. It will also include elementary linear programming. Course Objective: The main objective of this course to teach students some advance mathematical concepts along with their applications. Students will learn how to apply an appropriate mathematical procedure/tool to solve a problem and how to perform proper mathematical analysis. Please arrive and leave on time. Class will begin promptly five minutes after the hour and will end exactly on the hour. Late arrivals and early departures disrupt class and ruin the presentations of others. They are unprofessional.
