We also want to ascertain the factors that play major role in building up of preference of various news channels. The study would also help us to differentiate between preference of Hindi and English news channel. INTRODUCTION: In recent times we witness the mushrooming of News channels that we are updated of all the events and happenings around us and of the entire world. The private News channels like NDTV 24X7, Times Now, CCN-IBN, AajTak, etc are doing a very good job to feed the hungry souls eager to know what's happening around the globe. With its new face, the channels re-affirm their promise to deliver news at any cost from every corner. Keeping the common man in mind, these channels shall air news shows that are simpler and have new packaging at par with international standards. In this era when competition has reached its peak, all the news channels try to provide the best news from, their side, but how the viewers rate it is of utmost importance for the channels to sustain the competition and be the winner amongst their competitors. LITERATURE REVIEW: The following is the list of different literature that we have consulted before we undertook our project. All these different pieces of work have helped us deciding the course of action that we may follow and also provided a starting point based upon which we have developed our methodology to achieve our objective. 1 ) INDUSTRY OMNIBUS 1 RESEARCH REGARDING STUDY OF NEWS CHANNEL PREFERNCE 2 : CyberMedia 3 Research has done a survey to understand the viewer’s perception, awareness &preferences .They have interviewed 703 households in Ambala, Delhi & Mumbai. Method used: The respondents were asked for their preferred channels without the aid of any recall card to capture their top-of-the-mind recall as well as total unaided recall. They were then provided with a preference card that listed 54 channels and they were requested to choose channels. In this way, top-of- mind, total unaided and total preference (sum of unaided and aided preference), were captured in the study and analyzed....
