2 Interview Activity I interviewed Mrs. Renee Burst, who is a great guidance counselor from high school. I interviewed her via Skype today, July 7, 2011 in the barrack on my cold room, where we discuss how she was able to assist coordinating the CHICKEN Club (Optimist Club) for Aldine ISD. This CHICKEN Club stands for- Cool, Honest, Intelligent, Clear-headed, Keen, Energetic and Not interested in drugs. Ms. Burst has worked at this place of employment for 16 years, and has advanced to this present position as the head counselor of the school. Ms. Burst is graduated from North Carolina University where she earned her BA in Psychology . After completing that, she being to teach and work on her Master at the University of Houston. I had the honor to get involved in this program when I was in high and I was able to provide some light to those young men and women of the future. Mrs. Burst was the reason for me getting involved and I still remember all the good things that can out of her pushing me through high so that is why I choose to do an interview with her. “America’s approach to crime and justice for the past several decades has been an increasingly punitive one; the war on drugs is a byproduct of this philosophy” (Reynolds, 2009). Being that I have that I was involved in with the program as a kids I must say that the program has grown and something that kids need throughout the communities to help them make crucial decision on what to do when the at face with the trouble of drugs and alcohol. Mrs. Burst has a career path that not totally in connection with criminal justice, but she is the first line of defense to reach our young people in the communities to give them a head up on what is going on around them. She is backed the officers that support the programs and share the information with the
