Analysis of Electronic Payment Systems Name and describe various categories of e-commerce. The various categories of e-commerce are; Business to business which is companies doing business with each other, such as manufacturers selling to distributors and wholesalers selling to retailers. Business to consumer which is business’s selling to the public usually through websites with catalog type webpages and shopping cart software. Consumer to consumer which involves consumers selling directly to each other. Examples of this are EBay and Craigslist. Compare and contrast electronic payment systems. Which type do you use most often? Which type is most applicable for organizations you interact with regularly? There are many ways to pay for services and products online. Most use some form of the credit card system where the consumer enters their credit card information and name and address in order to

Virtual wallets eliminate the consumer from having to repeatedly enter this information every time they make a purchase by securely storing all the above information. PayPal and Google Checkout are examples of this. There also micropayment systems for purchases under $10 which would be too small for credit card payments. I recently just received a debit card and find Google Checkout the most convenient to use because it stores all my personal information. I do not make purchases online that often so I would have to say the Google Checkout is most applicable for me. Explain how Internet technology supports business-to-business e-commerce. With the advent of internet technology businesses are now able to connect with manufacturer’s and find the lowest price on products and services and also find the lowest price from merchants....
