Define the problem The problem with Dorfman Pacific was that they picked their products manually and used a paper-based method that has long been out of date. By continuing to do business in the manner, Dorfman Pacific was not able to keep up with orders from their main clients Walmart and J.C Penny. In an attempt to keep up with orders during peak seasons was to hire more employees and pay many hours in overtime in order to keep up which ultimately cost the company over $250,000 in hourly and overtime wages. Develop alternative solutions. There are many solutions Dorfman Pacific could have used to handle the problems they were having. Such as analyzing and implement a new IT system. Furthermore Dorfman Pacific could use additional training for the order processors and design better routes for them to take along with a more manageable way to store products in the warehouse so
