Example: NAMCS The goal of the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) is to quantify what happens in physician offices in the US. Design: 1. Group the list of all licensed physicians by region and specialty 2. Select some doctors in each group 3. Group the year into 2-week time periods 4. Select one 2-week period independently for each selected doctor. 5. Sample every mth patient encounter for each selected doctor in the selected time period, and record information about that encounter.
