Financial Accounting and Reporting assists you to acquire basic accounting  knowledge   that   is   useful   in   the   day-to-day   practice   of   general   management,  consulting and other careers in business. Accounting systems provide important  financial information for all types of organizations throughout the world. Despite  their many differences, all accounting systems are built on a common foundation.  Economic concepts, such as assets, liabilities, and income are used to organize  information   into   a   fairly   standard   set   of   financial   statements.   Bookkeeping  mechanics compile financial information using the double entry system of debits and  credits. Accounting conventions help guide the application of the concepts through  the mechanics.  This  course  provides  these  fundamentals  of  accounting.  It  then  extends this knowledge by examining how financial statements can be used to make  decisions for planning and valuation. ATTENDANCE:  Attendance is required for each of the exams.  Attendance at other  times is at the student’s discretion.  It should be noted that regular attendance is  essential for optimal performance, and the student is responsible for all material
