Nursing is probably one of the oldest professions and its evolution is one to admire; What startedto be a women’s job to take care of the sick, is now a diverse profession with many opportunities to grow. Nurses are now able to peruse different specializations and pursue advanced degrees which have come with greater responsibilities and better remuneration. Due to advancements in nursing, there has been a noticeable nursing shortage, so hospitals have undervalued the technical skills used in the profession and hired non-nurses to complete them at a lower salary. The professional impact from nurse assistants' introduction is a decrease burn out nurses go through. It is estimated that adding 1 extra patient to the nurse’s ratio increases negative nurses’ outcomes such as job dissatisfaction which increases by 8%, the highest degree of workload, andincrease needle sticks. (Shin, Park, & Bae, 2018). Nurses working while aggravated with workload will not function properly which further increases errors or improper assessments. Therefore, Hospitals come up with methods, such as an adjustment in skill mix to reach a cost-effective and flexible use of health care personnel (Duffield et al., 2005). It is believed that a set of extra hands is more helpful; however, if the extra help is not efficiently trained it can cause adverse effects. Nurses possess the ability to meet patients’ needs through educated interventionsand proper care plans. Although nurse assistants are trained based on evidence-based practice, they lack the rationale behind their actions (Duffield et al., 2005). They often failed to develop proper interventions and therefore are unable to meet patient’s needs. Consequently, there is a
