According to the textbook, I would be classified as a linear learner; however, I believe that I exhibit traits of both directions depending on the situation. Since I am in the military especially, some tasks I may need more details explained to me to ensure the end state is understood and reached, while other tasks I may just need to understand the desired outcome and I will be able to achieve that outcome without completely understanding all the minuscule details of how to get to the outcome.

I like to have my tasks prioritized and planned to ensure I stay on track and don’t forget anything. I also believe that I am a bit of a contradiction learner as well; I find it much easier to understand something by knowing what it is not. I would like to think that now I know the other attention and direction styles I would be able to incorporate them into my complete learning style....
