Print This Page   Lesson 9  Human Development over the Life Span  Introduction: Connecting Your Learning  Everything you have learned so far in this course has application to the topic of human development. There  are changes in the brain and nervous system throughout life. Perception grows; memory grows; thinking  powers expand and refine. Motives evolve and change as the goals in life change. The inner self goes through  many personal transformations due to the experiences in life. Just as the topic of personality provided a  comprehensive and integrative look at human psychology, so does the topic of development - only now you  will be looking at the total person across the perspective of time. The focus of this lesson is  psychological  change . Focusing Your Learning  Official Course Competencies Describe and relate the basic theories of child and life span development. Lesson Objectives By the end of this lesson, you should be able to: 1. Describe and illustrate the  heredity - environment issue  regarding human development.
