The Influence of Video Games on Children Have you ever wondered how unhealthy video games are to children? `Most people might think, “ What do video games have to do with children being unhealthy?” There are many factors that can contribute to a child living an unhealthy life. First, children can form an ongoing addiction when their day revolves around playing video games. Along with the addiction, children begin to lose their social life. Children do not make as many friends and consequently spend the majority of their time by themselves playing their own games. If children never learn how to meet new people and make new friends, then they will struggle to do it in the future. Another factor that makes video games unhealthy is children can become overweight because of the lack of physical activity. Without the balance of physical activity mixed in with their game playing, children will not be able to stay in shape like they should be in the early years of their life. To hit back on the major points, the influence that video games can have on a child can sometimes lead to an unhealthy lifestyle, such as causing an addiction, changing the child’s perspective of reality, and even causing a child to lose their social life.
