Advanced Auditing 2 Auditor’s Opinion For users to understand the audit reports, AICPA professional standards provide uniform wording for the auditor’s report. Different auditors may alter the wording or presentation slightly, but the meaning will be the same. Reports are essential to audit and assurance engagements because they communicate the auditor’s findings. The audit report is the final step in the entire audit process. An opinion paragraph is the final paragraph in the standard report. This paragraph states the auditor’s conclusions based on the results of the audit. This part of the report is very important. A lot of times the entire report will be referred to as the auditor’s opinion due to it being so important. This is not an absolute fact or guarantee; it is consider just an opinion. In the beginning of the paragraph they say in our opinion because there could be some information risk
