Communication is the process by which information is exchanged and understood by two or more people, usually with the intent to motivate or influence behavior. Therefore, communication is a quite important element for all organization. However, there are barriers to communication such as interpersonal barriers, selecting the wrong channel or medium, semantics and inconsistent cues. In my following essay, I am going to discuss these barriers and the ways of overcoming barriers. To start my essay, I am going to talk about barriers to communication. Firstly, interpersonal barriers include problems with perceptions held by employees. For example, ligid perceptual labeling or stereotyping prevents people from modifying their opinions. If a person’s mind is made up before the communication starts, communication will fail. Moreover, people with different knowledge may interpret a communication in different ways.
