Board of Education is one of the most famous and well-known supreme court case which not only shaped today’s educational environment within schools, but also the era in which the Supreme Court was known to have been re-structured by its Chief Justice at the time. This case was similar to the Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court case although it had completely different results. The Brown v. Board of Education case overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson case decision which ultimately allowed for segregated schools stating that they were “separate but equal”. Chief Justice at the time Earl Warren thought otherwise and shocked the nation when Warren’s court stated, “separate educational facilities are inherently unequal”. The Plessy v.
