Tampa Florida is home to the New York Yankees Spring training, Bush Gardens,  and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only is Tampa home to these attractions, but in  2009 they were called home by approximately 343,890 people (Oriboard Informatics,  2010). Tampa has a much larger population than Douglasville; therefore there are more  chances for crimes to be  committed at a higher rate than there would be in  Douglasville. Douglasville’s approximate population in 2009 was 31,534, which is close  to 10% of Tampa’s approximate population in 2009 (Oriboard Informatics, 2010). With  Douglasville only having a small percentage of the population that Tampa has, there is a  far greater chance that Tampa will have more crimes that Douglasville.  Based on the geographical location of Tampa, they are likely to have a far greater  chance of having a higher crime rates based on the readings in the text Gaines states
