Part II In Section 2, we will examine the relation between internet firms’ (p/c firms and e- tailers) revenues and measures of web usage. The examination will divide in 2 sections. The first section will examine the correlation between revenue growth and actual web usage growth. The second section will examine the correlation between revenue growth and estimated web usage growth. The dimension of the examination is the three web traffic metrics which mentioned in Section 1 – unique visitors, pageviews and minutes. We expect the revenues for both e-tailers and p/c firms should be positively related to three web traffic metrics due to following reason: i) For the e-tailers, the business mainly focus on online trading in which unique visitors reflects the total number of potential customers, while pageviews and minutes reflect the intensity of their shopping experience. ii) For p/c firms, whose revenues is directly related to number of advertiser’s banners appear on each pageviews.
