END 332E – OPERATIONS RESEARCH 2 HOMEWORK 2 Q1) -Because we have two principal (x1, x2) and three slack(s1,s2,s3) variables we described “x” matrix which displays values of variables as a 5x1 matrix. - We described the “c” matrix as a 5x1 matrix which includes the coefficients of variables in the objective function. -We have five variables and three constraints, so we got A matrix as 3x5 matrix. -W e described the D matrix as 5x5 matrix which includes initial values in the diagonals and the others elements are zero. -By multiplying A and D matrixes we got à matrix. - We did many operations with A and à and I to get projection matrix P. -By using production of inverse of D and x we got x~ -By using production of D and c we got c~ -By using production of P and c~ we got Cp - We chose the alfa as 0,8 -We find v value by taking most negative value in Cp matrix. -We chose the initial values 1, 2, 96, 77, 39 respectively in which (1, 2) is a interior point in the feasible region. - In the first iterations the values of variables and objective function are not closest each other.
