Assignment: United States-Centric Views Comparison 2 I went a step beyond the assignment and used my husband and our daughter as participants. As I expected, my husband and I had very similar tables. Our daughter’s table was somewhat different. The main difference between my husband and me is that he had the descriptors about religion and government in both groups whereas I had them in the Muslim/Arab group. I said this mainly because we are supposed to keep church and state separate. It does not make sense to me because this country was founded on religious freedom, yet there are constant battles about some religious symbol or wording being taken off government buildings, money, and even the Pledge of Allegiance. I do not think this is quite fair lumping Muslims and Arabs together either. Our checkpoint assignment even showed us that not all Arabs are Muslims and not all
