Topics covered include right triangle trigonometry, the unit circle, the basic trigonometric functions and their graphs, identities of trigonometric functions, solving trigonometric equations, and applications. If time permits, we will cover additional topics such as the laws of sines and cosines, vectors, and trigonometry in the complex plane. A secondary goal of the course is the development of critical thinking skills and mathematical maturity. For many students taking this course, this will be their last formal mathematics course. See GPA and CLASR-M requirement below. Textbook: The textbook for this course is Precalculus with Limits , by Larson and Hostetler, 2nd edition .
