What is the "current macroeconomic situation" (e.g. worrying about inflation and/or recession) in the U.S.? What should the U.S. Congress and the Federal Reserve do about it? Currently we are in a slow healing process. After shady lending practices and deregulation of the mortgage industry, as well as “betting” or making bond trades on whether or not people would pay their mortgages have been lassoed in, the economy is finally starting to stabilize. With tighter regulations and a severe decrease in the federal rates as well as the current interest rate at an all time low we have seemed to put a stall to the recession for now. Congress should make sure to put tougher restrictions on those said areas and make sure this will never even be an issue in the future. While keeping in mind to tighten up after sure signs of

(Felsenthal , 2009). In which I completely agree. I think it would behoove congress, at this point, to look into regulatory processes that curb spending on the levels it has been going at and look into being there for more of what they are there for which, in my opinion, is social programs and services.
