What main factors contribute to individuals becoming obese? What are the health consequences of excess weight? I think the main factors that contribute to individuals becoming obese are poor diet and lack of exercise. Many people skip breakfast and sometimes even lunch. Then, that individual will become very hungry come dinner time. People who do this tend to eat high calorie snacks till dinner time then over eat at dinner. Eating more calories then what you burn, could have a great impact on your weight. Eating less and more frequently is a great way to shed pounds off and will help one start to have a healthier diet. Also, Many people work jobs and do not have much time to work out or burn those calories. Having excess weight on one’s body can have many consequences. The more unwanted pounds one gets, the harder it will be to lose. Extra weight can make a person higher risks for cholesterol problems, diabetes and heart disease. They can also have a higher risk for having liver, kidney disease, and also stroke. It can also make an individual have low self-esteem, become depressed or ultimately could end in suicide.
