POLICE STRESS 2 Police Stress For police stress it may cause so much injury that may do mentally, physically, and emotionally. There are four different types of stress that may affect one’s mind. The four types of stress are external stress, organizational stress, personal stress, and operational stress. I will be describing how each type of stress may hurt one who is working in law enforcement. First, is external stress, this is basically being out in the streets as well as a city or town. For example there are problems that can are very dangerous such as people carrying hidden weapons and the situations that may involve a suspect both of which could bring harm to the officer. This type of stress can affect a police officer especially if the officer gets hurt or hurts the potential suspect. These are things that have been known to push some officers to suicide. I
