POLICE ORGANIZATION 2 Police Organization I believe that the Houston Police Department is organized as a division of labor. It appears that HPD used this as a role to have work equally divided as much as possible. I agree with the text there is no exact science on how many people are needed to supervise the next set of subordinates for sure. Each section is so full of great breakdowns and I was so impressed at how well organized it works in HPD. I am amazed at how much I can learn from a chart to show how cooperation works. I am enjoying this process of learning in detail how the men in blue in Houston work. I never realized there was such detail behind this organization....
