Using the pycnometer as acommonly used measuring device to measure  the density, the volume of the water and ethanol varies to determine the change in

density of mixture, the values obtain is near to the specific value obtained in chain  balance. The graph of molar volume versus mole fraction tells us that the partial   molar volume decreases at its minimal value and increases.
