Review the article on the nutritional topic you were assigned in section. What was the article about? Briefly summarize its main points. (1 pt) The article I was assigned in section talked about how increasing the intake of monounsaturated fats such as olive oil and tree nuts will reduce cholesterol levels. They do this through increasing HDL levels while decreasing LDL levels of cholesterol. One of the major findings under the multiple studies conducted is that monounsaturated fats not only improve good levels of cholesterol in a short period of time but also do not raise the levels of the bad cholesterol and in fact decrease those levels. Few foods are able to do both of these things. However, researchers realize that while this finding has major implications, it does not necessarily mean that there will be immediate impacts. This is because people have trouble altering their own diet. While this may be under their control, there are situations that might not be under the consumer’s control. This situation is that of which the consumer is not able to purchase affordable healthy foods that are easily accessible.
