Open recall data file and create a curvilinear relationship by comparing the probablitity of a word’s recall v. position in list b. Chart then XY (scatter) c. Click on Add button under Series tab: “Probability of Recall” d. Click on spreadsheet labeled X values, highlight B2 to H2, same for Y values except B9 to H9; Next e. Unclick the show legend box; click title tab; Chart Title: Probability of Word Recall versus Word Position; X: Serial Position of Word in List; Y: Probability of Recall (in second Y box: %); Next f. Select As a New Sheet: Recall Graph; Finish and Save g. Double click on Y axis and change the Major Unit box to .05 h. Use Format Axis window to change probability from 1.05 to 1.00 under
