Required Course Materials: Petrucci, R.H.; Harwood, W.S.; Herring, F.G. General Chemistry: Principles and Modern Applications, 9 th ed. (Prentice Hall, 2007). ISBN 0-13-149364-7. Chemistry 2A Laboratory Manual , Department of Chemistry, University of California, Davis (Winter, 2006). You will get these in the bookstore before the first lab period. You can also download it from the Chemistry Departmental Website at: http://www.chem.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/chem2labs.html Approved safety goggles. Bound laboratory notebook with carbon pages. Online Tools: None Recommended: Study Guide , Dixie J. Goss for the textbook by Petrucci, R.H.; Harwood, W.S.; and Herring, F.G. General Chemistry: Principles and Modern Applications, 9 th ed. (Prentice Hall, 2007). Examinations: Two 50-minute midterm examinations will be given during the lecture hour in the lecture room. They will be on Thursday, June 31 st (midterm I) and Thursday, July 14 th (midterm II). The Final Examination will be 100 min and given in class as well on Thursday , July 28 th . The final will be accumulative. Notice that there is very little time (less than one day) between the last lecture and the final.
