Ashley B. Hilliard 258-10-0169 June 1, 2011 MG 615 Lesson#8, Assignment 2 Dirt Bikes, Part IX Developing an E-Commerce strategy Dirt Bikes USA could possibly benefit from e-commerce. By selling motorcycles and parts over the internet, we would eliminate any commission paid to our dealer network. Some drawbacks with setting our company up for e-commerce exist that should be looked at very closely. With our existing dealer network, we have a good solid base of customer recognition and good will in place. Starting up sales over the internet would be almost like rebuilding this from scratch. There is also the issue of shipping logistics. If we were to sell motorcycles, how would we ship them to individual’s homes and would it be economically feasible. There are numerous existing solutions if Dirt Bikes USA decided to pursue ecommerce. Yahoo is a well known name and offers plans for small business. With their standard business plan, there is a $50 setup fee, a monthly fee of $99.95, and a 1% transaction fee. Another option
