Lab Assignment Week 3 Statistics sampling is selecting part of a target population that is of interest in the effort to represent the whole group. The sample is used to gather data to generate statistics. Statistics is the practice or science of collecting and analyzing data in large quantities. Breaking down statistics is collecting data, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions from data. Statistics are broken down into two branches descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. A sample is a group of people that responded to the question during a public opinion poll. Many polls could be too small, narrow or difficult. There are five steps to sampling identify the population, specify a sampling frame, specify a sampling method balance, determine the sample size and implement the plan. Sampling is very important to the researcher. Critical thinking is to be able to think clearly and to be able to understand the situation. The reason why it’s important to be able to make a decision. Critical thinking asks to be able to solve problems. The critical question would be what is being claimed and how good would the evidence, what other information is relevant and are relevant fallacies avoided.
For example, one gets to the central question of whether polls with certain types of designs are more accurate than others. The sample size on the analysis is small and the effects of
