AutoCAD Tips Here are some explanations of the more complicated, but very useful tricks I showed in class today. AutoCAD Design Center (ADC) : With the AutoCAD Design Center, attributes of one file can be transferred over to another file. In our case it is particularly useful to take tedious tasks that were already done and putting them in a new file. When you enter the ADC command a dialogue box will appear like the following picture. Opening both the original file and the new file makes this process much easier. With both files opened the “Open Drawings” tab can be used and is much easier. The “Original File” should be the file with the text styles, dimension styles, multileader styles, etc. you wish to extract. Most likely a recent lab such as the Midterm will have these properly created. Click the “Original File” dropdown in the Open Drawings tab to show various attributes in the file you may want to copy over. Choose an attribute such as “Dimstyles” as shown.
