Command Use Line Possibly the most widely used command, draws lines. Construction Line Used as lines of reference to other points of interest, can also be used to work around bugs in the program (especially with hatching boundaries) Polyline Treats multiple lines as one connected object, especially useful for objects with many connected lines, necessary for 3D drawings Polygon Creates regular polygons (same length sides and same angles) Rectangle Draws rectangles instead of 4 lines one by one (a form of polyline) Arc Creates arc, must draw arcs counter clockwise Circle Self explanatory Revision cloud Used to make notes pop out, used in the field when there is a change to plans after or during permitting/bid process Spline Mostly useless for engineers, its more for esthetics, hard to create accurately Ellipse Used to make isometric circles Elliptical arc Used to make elliptical and parabolic arcs Block(s) Will be discussed later Hatch Will be discussed later Point Used to mark a specific point of interest Table Will discuss later Text 2 forms, Single line and Multiline text Erase Select Explanatory Copy Copies objects within the current drawing *Copyclip Copies objects within or outside the object (ctrl+c) *Copy with base point Copies objects within or outside the object with a base point of reference (ctrl+shift+c) Mirror Creates a mirrored copy along an axis of user’s choosing, useful for symmetric objects Offset Creates a copy of the object selected scaled either up or down (unless a line) at a certain distance perpendicular to the object of reference Array Makes multiple copies in a rectangular or polar arrayed fashion Move Moves an object (see below to find the difference between absolute and relative
