Topics include probability, discrete and continuous random variables, estimation, hypothesis testing, quality control charts and linear and multiple regressions. This course satisfies general education credits in the mathematical sciences. Students learn how to summarize data and how to make appropriate decisions based on data. Prerequisite: MAC 2311 Required Supplies: Textbook: Statistics for Engineers and Scientists by William Navidi with Solutions Manual. Calculator with the ability of finding the mean and standard deviation. Other Recommended Supplies: Minitab (the student’s edition). * ___________________ 1

*Minitab : Minitab can be found on the CIRCA lab computers, purchased at a campus bookstore or downloaded for free for 30 days . Also you can rent a copy of the software for a semester at minitab . Attendance: Attendance will be taken on 10 random days in the semester. Each day of attendance will earn 0.5 bonus points to be added into your total points (out of 400 points) at the end of the semester. Grading Scale:
