Sample Comm 391 Final Exam Fall 2010 Database Design and Microsoft Access (28 marks) 1. Develop an ER diagram based on the information and forms provided in the following. In the ER diagram, you should include the entities, the relationships, the attributes and the cardinalities. [10 marks] Solomon’s Shipping Company (SSC) was founded in 1952 and owns a fleet of cargo ships. The CEO in attempting to manage logistics operations purchased a database application. At the time of receiving the database application from the software developers, the CEO did not collect the ER diagram for the system. However, he feels that it is important to have such a diagram. After a discussion with the staff, the following forms have been identified. Your task is to develop an ER diagram based on the information provided and the following forms. The forms below reflect the complete domain.

Based on the ER diagram you have created in question #1; create a query as it would be displayed in Access design view to display as output: Merchant’s first name, Merchant’s last name, Cargo type and the total amount of cargo the merchant ordered in descending order after January 1, 2008.
