It will examine the essential marketing functions such as buying, selling, transportation, storage, financing, standardization, price determination, trade, and risk bearing. Agricultural marketing system in the United States is vast and complicated. Through the course of this semester you will become confident in your abilities to develop and assess successful food marketing strategies. By the end of the semester, you will… 1. understand how agricultural commodities progress through the food marketing system to become final food products. 2. be able to identify food system participants and explain their structure, conduct, and performance. 3. be conversant about the influences of consumer trends on the marketing and distribution of food. 4. utilize key business skills, such as writing and communication via online methods effectively.
