Health Decisions and the Biopsychosocial Model 2 I currently am unaware of any biologically inherited diseases that run in my family; however, I do know that addiction to substances such as drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes is something that many of my family members including myself have suffered from. Both of my grandfathers, my father, my mother, my aunt, uncle, brothers, and even I have been addicted to one or two of these substances throughout our life time. I myself have been both an addict of drugs and cigarettes. I was able to stop using drugs (marijuana and meth) when I turned 18 and moved away from my hometown and all the influences around me but, I was only able to stop smoking when I was 20 and became pregnant. Being pregnant with my first child truly made me realize that I was not only damaging myself anymore but, I was also putting my child at risk. Thus being, I took the
