Unformatted text preview: v Outlet Function Vacuum 8/7/11 Vortex There are two types of vortices.-Forced vortex-Free vortex The streamlines of the gulf stream follow a straight path.(axial flow) The aim is to create a vortex via the inlet funnel and fins. 8/7/11 Velocity Distribution Free Vortex Forced Vortex 8/7/11 Angle of Attack This concept will be used to decide the positioning and contours of the rotor blades, in order to maximize power output. 8/7/11 Prototype Scaling In order to successfully design a scaled down prototype, dimensional analysis would have to be performed.
