MY PYRAMID PLAN 2 Understanding a food label is essential in any healthy diet. A food label tells the consumer the serving size, what nutrients are in the product, and also includes the things to watch out for to maintain a healthy diet. By understanding how to read a food label will enable the consumer to have healthy eating habits if the labels are followed correctly. An example is knowing the difference between serving size and the portions. A healthy dieter would follow the serving size. That is the recommended amount of the product that should be consumed. The information on the food label tells the consumer the serving size, how many servings are in that product, the good and bad nutrients, and the Dietary Value of that product.

Would I be better off if I did not eat this? These are questions I ask myself when I look at food labels. First, we need to make smart choices about eating the right amounts from every food group. We need to learn to balance out what we need to consume. This helps in developing a healthy diet. Next, we need to find balance between, eating and exercise, or physical activity. We should maintain 30 minutes of physical activity a day. Strenuous activity, such as running or jogging is not necessary. As long as we keep active and keep the heart pumping....
